800SP HD 4830 Sneaks up in China

Radeon HD 4830 is an affordable graphics card from AMD based on RV770LE chip which is priced at around $89.99. Recently, several buyers of HD 4830 find something interesting: the HD 4830 actually features 800 stream processors, instead of 640 ones. The AIB brands involved include Powercolor, Sapphire and Triplex.
We have confirmed this information from the market, and snatch a picture with GPU-Z shown as below.

That is to say, HD 4830 has exactly the same SP counts as HD 4850 which is sold at least $114.99. Though HD 4830 comes with lower clocks, you may overclock to make up. In another word, HD 4830 has become a downclocked version of HD 4850.
Actually, the same case ever happened to Phenom II X3. Users found that Phenom II X3 could be unlocked by using ACC core to trick the CPU to enable 4th core.
No official statement is made by AIBs yet, but we’ll follow this and keep you informed.
